This week, NASA succeeded in the first ever flight on another planet. Although the drone helicopter, named Ingenuity, was as small as a child’s toy, the event marks huge progress in planet exploration.
If scientists can successfully navigate through the air on Mars, they have a much greater opportunity to get to know the planet. Having access to this third dimension for movement will expand their ability to scout out the terrain and map the landscape.
MiMi Aung, NASA’s Ingenuity program manager, congratulated the team on their achievement, saying, “We can now say we’ve flown a rotorcraft on another planet. . . . We together flew on Mars. We together have our Wright brothers moment.” The image below captures that moment of celebration when they learned of their success. A very surreal moment indeed.
Here at StratMg, we believe a focused team makes a difference. We are an extension of your team – we win with you and we grow with you. That’s been our celebration, feel free to peruse through some of our proud moments – Our Success Stories. If you have a challenge then put us to the test, I invite you to get in touch.
