Today, you may be closer to finding out than ever before! Richard Branson and Jeff Bezos just became the first spaceflight entrepreneurs to travel into space.
Branson’s Virgin Galactic has begun to sell tickets for the public to travel into space. Ticket prices for future space travel cost as much as $250,000 dollars per ticket. Blue Origin, Jeff Bezos’ Aerospace company, is also expected to sell tickets at similar prices.
Does that seem out of reach? Good news: Ticket prices will likely decrease dramatically in the future. In order to increase demand and lower prices, Virgin Galactic is looking into “point-to-point” travel which launches spacecraft flights across the globe. This would make prices more affordable to the general public. Tickets could eventually be sold at $2,500.
The possibilities are endless with evolving technology. Bezos’ ideas extend beyond tourism and into sustainable practices. He hopes to move pollution from Earth into space, although this would take decades to complete.
The Space Industry is also seeing the possibility of building factories on the moon one day. It would be quite a change for StratMg to partner with manufacturers that have facilities on the moon!
