Winter and fun really can go together! If we look beyond winter storms into the heart of winter holidays and activities—both cozy and thrilling—we can find warmth and joy.

Shifting Perspective on Winter

As the days grow shorter, the StratMg family likes to shift our focus to winter joys. We enter a season of gratitude for our lives, our families, our friends, and our partners. I find shifting perspective really helps with the wind blows cold in Chicago, Illinois—the Windy City—where we’re located.

So, as we head into December, I decided to look around for delights. Here are a few to get you thinking:

Enjoy seasonal food and drink.

It’s fun and easy to make winter recipes like mulled wine or cider, latkes (potato pancakes), or maple syrup taffy. Have other recipes we might like? Tweet them to us! We’re all taste buds!

Go stargazing.

Bundle up and head outside for some of the best stargazing nights in the Northern Hemisphere. You can get started in your backyard!

Play in the snow!

You don’t have to be a child to play in the snow. Snow offers something for everyone!

Even urban settings offer cool cold weather opportunities.

Avoid the winter blues!

Dress warmly, get together with people who make you smile, and join us at StratMg in welcoming winter! For more ideas on winter joy—including holiday themed activities—see 25 Fun Things to Do This Winter.

I want to end this post by wishing all of you a joyful holiday season!

Whether you’re looking forward to Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, and/or the New Year, may you find much joy and health!
